THE DISUNITED KINGDOM
A publication exploring how Brexit threatens to reignite conflict in Northern Ireland.
In 2016, the United Kingdom narrowly voted to leave the European Union, raising complex questions for Northern Ireland—a region with a rocky place in the UK and a past haunted by division and violence. Through a deep dive into history, politics, and culture, this project explores the potential consequences of that 2016 referendum and what it could mean for the region’s fragile peace.
Rather than simply retelling history, the book connects the dots between past, present, and future, translating dense topics into a compelling graphic experience. Themes of fragmentation, conflict, and uncertainty are represented through a dark, distressed, and gritty design style. Custom typography, original copywriting, curated photography, and detailed infographics work together to create a visual narrative that is both informative and emotionally stimulating.
*This project was developed in 2019 and reflects facts, data, and the status Brexit at that time.
